Portrait of Dan Reynolds

Dan Reynolds

Software and web developer, consultant, and perpetual tinkerer. Based in Berlin, with roots in Southern California.

Building things on the web, on the ground, and occasionally at 38,000 feet.

About

Hi, I'm Dan. I build software and websites for a living and for fun, which means the line between work and hobby went missing somewhere over the Atlantic. I'm based in Berlin now and plan to stay; it's home, even if Southern California is still where I spend some of my time.

Most of my work lives in Python and Django, with a healthy obsession for clean architecture, good tooling, the occasional well-placed keyboard shortcut, and an unapologetic soft spot for macOS, iOS, and all things Apple. I also run a small software company here in Berlin, which keeps things interesting. When I'm not at a terminal, I'm usually thinking about aviation, motorcycles, or where to travel next. I'm closing in on a hundred countries visited.

Models & tools I build with

I work with large language models every day, across both business and personal projects, and I genuinely enjoy them. A few I reach for most:

Frontier assistants

  • ChatGPT / Codex
  • Claude
  • Gemini

Open-weight models I build on

  • Gemma
  • Qwen

Frontier models for the heavy lifting, open weights for the things I want to run myself.

Off the clock

A few things I'm into when I step away from the screen: aviation (the reason this site lives at a .aero address), motorcycles, EDM and electronic music, and travel, ideally some combination of all four.
